Cheesy Onion Bread


Ingredients


1 1/2 cups biscuit mix

1 Tbsp vegetable oil

3/4 cup finely diced onion

1/2 cup milk

1 egg - beaten

1 cup cheddar cheese - grated

1/2 Tsp onion salt

2 Tbsp butter - melted

1 Tbsp fresh chives or parsley - chopped


Directions


Saute the onion in the oil until tender.

In a large bowl,mix the baking mix,egg,and milk.

Stir just until the mix is moistened.

Fold in the onions and half of the cheese.

Pour into a greased 8-inch round cake pan.

Mix the onion salt into the melted butter and drizzle the mixture over the dough.

Sprinkle the bread with chives or parsley.

Bake at 400 deg for 15 minutes.

Top the bread with the remaining cheese and bake until the bread is cooked through and the cheese top is golden,about 5 minutes longer.
