Easy Bread


Ingredients


3/4 cup water

3/4 cup milk

1 beaten egg

1 1/2 Tsp. salt

2 Tbsp. sugar

3 Tbsp. butter

3 1/4 cups flour

2 Tbsp. yellow cornmeal

3 Tsp. yeast


Directions


In a bread maker pan,place the salt,sugar and butter.

Heat the milk for 30-45 seconds in a microwave.

Slowly incorporate the milk into the already beaten egg being careful not to end up with a scrambled egg mixture.

Pour egg mixture into bread pan with the salt,sugar and butter.

Put 1 cup flour into the bread pan followed by 1 Tbsp cornmeal.

Repeat with 1 cup flour,remaining cornmeal and ending with the last 1 1/4 cup flour.

Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the yeast.

Process in the bread maker on the dough cycle only.

Remove the pan from the machine,cover with a clean cloth and let dough rest for 10 min.

Divide dough into 2 equal portions,form into loaves of whatever shape you like.

Place loaves on a sheet pan,cover and let rise for 1 hr.

Preheat oven to 375 deg and bake loaves for 35 min or until they sound hollow when tapped.

Cool on a wire rack or eat warm.

If you don't have a bread maker, mix all ingredients (in the same order) in a large bowl.

Cover and let rise in a warm place until almost until doubled in size.

Punch down then form into your loaves and follow the rest of the directions.
