Grandma C's Persimmon Fruit Cake


2 cups persimmon pulp

2 cups sugar

1 Tbsp shortening

2 eggs

2 cups dried peaches-chopped fine

2 cups raisins

1 cup chopped walnuts

2 cups flour

2 Tsp baking powder

1 Tsp baking soda

1 Tsp salt

1 Tsp cinnamon

1 Tsp cloves

1 Tsp allspice


Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.

Add in all remaining ingredients and mix well.

Pour into a buttered and floured deep,round cake pan or bundt pan.

Bake at 350 deg for 50-60 min.

This is totally different tasting than your usual fruit cake.

Wrapping the cake in cheesecloth and soaking in Brandy is still permissable with this cake.
