Chocolate Pudding


2 1/2 squares baking chocolate

3 Tbsp butter

2/3 cup sugar

1 egg - well beaten

1 cup milk

4 Tsp baking powder

1/8 Tsp salt

2 1/4 cup flour


Melt the chocolate over hot water.

Cream the butter and sugar.

Add in the egg and mix well.

Sift the flour,remeasure and sift again with the salt and baking powder.

Alternately add flour and milk to the creamed mixture.

Blend in the melted chocolate.

Pour into a lightly butter dish(or individual dishes).

Place waxed paper or plastic wrap directly on top of pudding to prevent a "skin" from forming.

Chill until ready to serve.

Top with whipped cream or your favorite sauce.
