Nutmeg Sauced Apples


6 tart baking apples

1/3 cup water

4 tsp sugar

4 tsp flour

1/2 tsp nutmeg

1 1/2 cup light cream


Peel,core and halve the apples.

Place the apples in a long baking pan and add the water.

Bake at 350 for 30-40 min or til tender.

Remove apples from the oven and keep warm.

In a small saucepan, combine the sugar,flour and nutmeg.

Stir in the cream.

Cook over medium heat,stirring constantly,til thick and bubbly.

Cook for 2 minutes more.

Remove from heat.

Place apples on serving dish and pour small ampount of sauce over each.
