Old Fashioned Rice Pudding


3/4 cups uncooked rice

3/4 cup sugar

1 quart milk

1 can (14 oz) evaporated milk

1 Tsp vanilla

3 Tbsp cornstarch

3 Tbsp water


In a large saucepan, cook rice according to package.

Drain any additional liquid,then add milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla.

Mix and let simmer for 20 minutes.

Mix cornstarch with the water and add to rice mixture.

Simmer for 20 minutes longer or until there is minimal liquid left.

Let cool before serving.
