Grandma C's Butterscotch Pie


1 9 inch prebaked pie shell

2 Cups Heavy Cream

1 Cup Milk

1 Cup Packed Dark Brown Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Salt

3 Eggs

4 Tablespoon Cornstarch

3 Tablespoons Cold Butter

1 Teaspoon Vanilla


In saucepan, combine the cream, milk sugar and salt and bring to a gentle boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar.

Remove from heat.

In a bowl, beat the eggs and add the cornstarch til mixed well.

Add some of the hot milk mixture to the eggs,and mix well,then pour all back into the pan.

Cook,stirring constantly,til thick.

Stir in butter and vanilla.

Pour into the pre-baked pie shell and chill.
