Hot Water Pie Crust

Ingredients


1 1/2 cups flour

1/4 cup boiling water

7 Tbsp shortening

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 Tsp baking powder


Directions

Sift the flour then measure it and sift together with the salt and baking powder.

Pour boiling water into a bowl,add the shortening and beat until it is smooth.

Sift in the dry ingredients.

Beat until mixture forms a smooth ball.

Wrap in plastic wrap and chill thoroughly.

Divide in half and roll each on a lightly floured surface(keep second half in fridge until ready to use).

Place rolled dough into bottom of your desired pie plate.

Blind bake or fill and use as is.

When making pie dough, the less you work with it,the lighter it will be and the longer you mix or roll it, it will be tough.You may also mix this in a food processor if you desire.
