Cabbage Rolls


1 head cabbage

1 cup cooked rice

1 lb hamburger
may use ground turkey,chicken or pork

1 onion-chopped

2 Tbsp. Worcestershire

1/2 Tsp salt

1/4 Tsp pepper

1 can tomato sauce*

1/2 cup water


Cook the cabbage in water just until the leaves fall off the head.

Keep 14-16 large leaves and set the rest of the cabbage aside.

Combine the rice,meat,onion,Worcestershire,salt,pepper and 1/4 cup of the tomato sauce and mix well.

Place 2-3 Tbsp of the mix on each cabbage leaf and roll up.

Line a dutch oven with the leftover cabbage.

Combine the 1/2 cup water with the remaining tomato sauce and pour over the cabbage in the dutch oven.

Stack the rolled cabbage,seam side down, on top of the sauce.

Cover and bring sauce to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer on low heat for 1 1/2 hours.

*Note: 1 can of tomato soup can be used instead of tomato sauce if you prefer.
