Chocolate Cherry Bars


Ingredients


For the bars

1(1 lb 2.25oz) pkg pudding included devils food cake mix

1(21 oz.) can cherry pie filling

1 teaspoon almond extract

2 eggs beaten

For the icing

1 cup sugar

1/3 cup milk

5 tablespoons margarine or butter

1(6 oz) pkg. (1 cup) semi sweet chocolate chips


Directions

For the bars

Grease and flour 15x10x1 inch baking pan or a 13x9x2.

In a large bowl combine all the bar ingredients,stirring until well blended.

Spread in greased and floured pan.

2)Bake at 350 F 15x10x1 20-30 min. 13x9 25-30 min. or until a tooth- pick comes out clean after it`s been inserted in the center.

For the icing

In a small saucepan combine sugar milk and margarine.

Bring to a boil.

Boil for one minute,stirring constantly.

Remove from heat stir in chocolate chips until smooth.

Pour and spread over warm cake cake in pan.

Cool 1 1/4 hours or until completely cooled and then cut into bars.
