Fried Okra
Ingredients
3 cups sliced okra
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 cup flour
1/2 Tsp each salt and pepper
Dash ground hot red pepper
(optional)
small amt of oil for frying
Directions
Rinse and dry the okra before slicing it.
Place the okra in a bowl and cover it with the buttermilk,letting it soak for at east 5 min.
Mix the flour with the salt,pepper and red pepper in a shallow dish.
Heat oil in a shallow pan.
Drain excess buttermilk from okra and dredge it is the flour mixture.
Fry in the hot oil until golden brown and drain on paper towels.
